The Dashboard is the portfolio overview: total value, performance, how far you've drifted from your target models, and what a rebalance would look like for all accounts, one account, or a saved group (the Account filter at the top).
The headline numbers
- Total Portfolio Value is the latest point of the value chart, including securities plus core cash.
- Performance shows two deliberately different numbers: Raw is what your balance did (deposits included); TWR is how your investments performed with flows stripped out. Both follow the chart's visible date range.
- The Est. rebalance chip totals the suggested trades; the model chip checks every in-view model has complete slices and within-slice fund weights.
Rebalance readiness is account-local. If one in-view account is unassigned, has an unavailable or incomplete model, lacks usable prices, or has no balance, the chip and Biggest Moves still show trustworthy results for complete accounts. The chip names the exclusion count, and the expandable account notice names each omitted account and its recovery step. A setup-needed chip and full recovery state appear only when no in-view account can produce a result.
Charts and tables
The value chart can overlay a benchmark (shown as "vs" and scaled to start at the same dollar value) and switch to a cumulative TWR % view. Target vs Actual shows drift by asset class, region, or slice. The Accounts Summary table repeats value, Raw, TWR, and drift per account, and expands to real cash flows (contributions, withdrawals, income). When an account is excluded from trustworthy model results, its vs model cell says setup needed and exposes the account-specific reason instead of calling the missing result on model. An account intentionally outside the rebalancing scope says not rebalanced rather than implying it was evaluated. Biggest Moves previews the largest suggested trades. When you hold individual stocks, the Stock Monitor lists them with their day move, distance below the 52-week high, and share of your equity; a fund-only portfolio doesn't get the panel at all.
When the value chart has fewer than two stored dates, it says why it cannot draw and exposes the same direct history action as the chart toolbar. Depending on current state, that action rebuilds configured provider/local history, opens Settings → Price data, or opens License. It does not assume Yahoo is the active source or use history recovery to bypass consent, setup, or entitlement.
Needs attention
The compact Needs attention area turns stored, evidence-backed checks into one next-step queue. A single item is shown directly. Several related items, such as three models due for review or two possible splits, are grouped into expandable rows instead of one long sentence.
It can surface:
- price-source setup or held market prices more than a week old;
- routine target-model cadence reviews;
- a target model whose slices or within-slice fund weights are incomplete;
- trade prices that imply a possible unrecorded split;
- unresolved opening positions or cash from an account's import history;
- household birth years that the Projection needs for age and RMD timing; and
- an invitation to load a sample portfolio, shown only while the portfolio has no accounts and no sample is already open.
Each row has one primary action. Mark done is available only for a cadence review, and is remembered on this computer until the next scheduled date. Dismiss is available only for a possible split and hides that exact evidence-backed candidate for 180 days. Its saved signature combines an opaque SHA-256 scope for the open database with all detector evidence: ticker, implied ratio and date, compared prices and corroborating samples. It never stores the portfolio file path. Different evidence or another database creates a distinct candidate that remains visible. Old ticker-only dismissals are discarded rather than migrated broadly, so they fail open. Unresolved model, price, import, and Profile facts stay visible until their underlying data is fixed; the Dashboard does not invent a last-import or last-reconciled date that the app does not store.
When no checks are open, the area becomes one short Everything current line. That means only that these stored checks found no issue. It is not a live market quote or a promise that a broker account was recently reconciled.
Numbers here follow your account filter. If something looks off, check the filter first. A group hides everything outside it.
